Birds of Prey Research and Conservation Programme in Armenia

The branch of German Nature Protection Union (NABU) in the Republic of Armenia has been implementing the program "Study and protection of birds of prey in Armenia" since 2018.

The purpose of the program is to study the nesting sites of birds of prey in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, to conduct an annual assessment of the success of nesting, to study the threats of nesting and propose preventive solutions, to conduct annual accounting work, to study the migration of birds, etc.

The work carried out within the framework of the program includes visualization of data collected through field research (accounting), mapping, placement of satellite sensors on various types of birds of prey, banding, informing the general public through eco-educational activities about a particular type of bird, creation, printing and dissemination of popular scientific materials in various educational institutions.
