This time our research team was in the Lori region to study vulture nesting sites.
The study allows us to identify nesting sites of the bird, count them, and conduct population monitoring. The results will allow for more managed conservation in the future.
The target species we are studying are:
- golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)
- egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus)
- bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus)
- eurasian griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus).
However, nests of other species and data on their activity are also found and recorded during the surveys.
