Dilijan National Park is located in the north-east of the Republic of Armenia.
Dilijan National Park State Non-Commercial Organization has an area of 33,765 hectares, mainly in the Tavush region of Armenia, and in small parts in the Lori and Gegharkunik regions. It extends on the slopes of the valleys of Pambak, Areguni, Miapor, Ijevan and Halab valleys, in the basins of the Aghstev and Getik rivers at 1070 m - 2900 m above sea level. It also has an 8167 hectare buffer zone.
It was established in 1958 as a reserve for the preservation, enrichment of flora and fauna and the acquisition of new species in local conditions. : Then in 2002 it was transformed into a national park. The main objects under protection are the high-quality forests of beech, taxus and oak.
