Programme on Protection of Birds from Collision with Power Lines and Electrocution

Programme on Protection of Birds from Collision with Power Lines and Electrocution started.

Birds are an important part of our ecosystems, playing vital roles in pollination, pest control and biodiversity. Unfortunately, bird collisions on power lines around the world pose a significant threat to their populations. Armenia is no exception in this matter. As no systematic data collection has been carried out so far, the branch of German Nature Protection Union (NABU) in the Republic of Armenia is committed to study and collect the necessary information, given the fact that Armenia is at the crossroads of migration routes and has a rich diversity of birds.

The data collected is crucial for research and conservation efforts aimed at mitigating threats to bird populations.

By documenting bird deaths, we can identify high-risk areas and develop strategies to minimize these impacts.
