Today, Varazdat Nersisyan, a resident of Mayakovski village, contacted the NABU branch in Armenia to report that he had found a bird of prey, presumably a Eurasian eagle-owl, in the vicinity of Yerevan.
Our experts visited the resident of Mayakovski village, examined the bird and determined that it had no fractures or injuries, but was emaciated.
With the permission of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, our specialists transferred the bird to Armavir Zoo, where it will be given proper care.
After a 1-week rehabilitation period, the Eurasian eagle-owl will be released back into the wild.
We extend our gratitude to Varazdat Nersisyan, a resident of Mayakovski village, as well as to the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia and Armavir Zoo for their care and support.
