On December 13, the final event of the "Clean Community" Initiative took place in the village Apaga, Armavir region. The project was implemented within the framework of the project "Protection of Wetlands in the Araks Valley with Community Involvement" of the Armenian branch of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU) with the support of the Michael Otto Environmental Foundation. Within the framework of the "Clean Community" project, the following activities were carried out in the communities of Apaga and Yerashaun in the Armavir region․
- Courses in schools on the topics "Sorting paths and using garbage cans" and "Economical waste management"
- Enlightenment actions among villagers
- Work on the cleaning of areas adjacent to wetlands
- Planting trees

During the event, the goals and results of the program were presented, the participating young men presented works made from plastic waste as a result of the training program. The event was attended by the head of the Araks community, the administration of the village of Apaga, the directors of schools of the villages of Apaga and Yerashaun. During the event, we once again talked about the importance of environmental protection measures, after which certificates of appreciation were presented to the supporters of the "Clean Community" Initiative, as well as a certificate of appreciation from the Araks community was presented to the Armenian branch of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU).
