In the village of Yerashakhun, Armavir region, our next eco-educational course was held within the framework of the program "Protection of Wetlands in the Araks Valley with Community Involvement". The purpose of the seminar is to increase the degree of ecological development of local children and youth, which in the future will lead to positive environmental results.
This time, together with schoolchildren, we discussed the basics of determining the species of birds, and also learned to recognize a number of important red book species that nest or occur during migration in the prairies of the Arax Valley.
The project "Protection of Wetlands in the Araks Valley with Community Involvement" is being implemented by the Armenian branch of the German Nature Protection Union (NABU) with the support of the Michael Otto Foundation.
