The Rescued Stork Returned Home

Recently, residents of the village of Arapi called the Ministry of Emergencies to report that one of the storks needed help.

Storks use various household wastes as construction material to build their nests, which is a result of the increasing amount of household and industrial waste, improper handling of landfills, and the dumping of garbage in open areas by private individuals. As a result, the bird tried to eat the pantyhose.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations RA, Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of Armenia, and Ministry of Environment, our specialists immediately responded and brought the stork to Yerevan Zoo, where it received medical intervention.

Yesterday, after four days of proper care at the zoo, our specialists returned the stork to the nest.

We express our gratitude to the villagers of Arapi, the staff of Rescue Service of Shirak Region, the Zoo, the Ministry of Environment, and the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of Armenia for their quick response and care
