During the census, the organization records not only the number of adult storks and chicks, but also the degree of stork contamination.
This year, in parallel with the census work, the organization is conducting clean and contaminated stork counts:
- installation of GPS trackers,
- ringing
- feather sampling.
This makes it possible to detect
- the causes of the contamination
- its effect on flight selection
- and in the case of migrations, do they continue to live?
As for the sampling work, it will continue this year.
